Feng to judge 2020 Menuhin Competition
Feng has been revealed as one of the nine international jurors for the 2020 Menuhin Competition, which will be held in Richmond, Virginia, between 14 and 24 May. Feng won the Second Prize at the Menuhin Competition in 2000 and previously judged the competition in 2016, when the competition celebrated Yehudi Menuhin’s centenary. Speaking about the competition, Feng said:
“Lord Menuhin was a legendary person who influenced so many people in the world. With my being involved with the Menuhin Competition, I feel very much like that I am part of his legacy.”
The competition was founded in 1983 by Yehudi Menuhin and is held in a different city every two years. It is the world’s leading international competition for young violinists, attracting hundreds of entries for the 44 available places. As well as the competition itself, each edition of the Menuhin Competition presents an 11-day festival of music, education and cultural exchange. Jurors give performances during the event and competitors participate in masterclasses and consultations with the jury as well as peer to peer learning.
