Ning Feng joins the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra on tour in China
Feng joins the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra on tour in China this month, performing in four cities across the country. The tour begins in Shanghai on 14 February and then visits Jinan and Beijing on 15 and 16 February before finishing with a residency at the Hong Kong Arts Festival from 19 to 22 February. The tour is led by the orchestra’s Music Director, Marin Alsop, and is the first by a full-time South American orchestra. Feng joins the orchestra as soloist in Paganini’s Violin Concerto No.1, which he has performed to acclaim across the world. Following the tour Feng returns to the UK for a concert with the Hallé Orchestra, this time performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.
Feng began February in the UK for concerts with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. In the run-up to the concerts, he appeared on In Tune on BBC Radio 3, performing Bach live in the studio. Click here to listen until 8 February.
